One Story Homes in Washington DC

A rambler, bungalow, rancher, or in other words, a one-story- house are homes in which, obviously, have one story. Now, in all honesty, there may or may not be one to three steps to climb to enter one of these houses and there may or may not be a flight of stairs down to a basement. However, the basic idea is that all the main living exists in harmony on ONE floor.one story homes in washington DC

Ramblers are great for many reasons. People find them favorable for when they're older and climbing stairs can become difficult and or dangerous. They're also preferable for families with members in wheelchairs or other special needs. Whatever the reason, many find the ease of a rambler very inviting. Finding a rambler in the DC area can be tough though. The city is old and is known for row houses, colonials, condos, and apartments.

21 minutes from Washington DC is a neighborhood known as Wilburdale in Virginia. It was created in the 1950's comprised of small ramblers on half acre lots. Although, the 108 homes in this community are smaller, the yards give you "room to breathe". People love this neighborhood for its "Leave it to Beaver" feel where home owners take pride in their property and neighbors are friends who look out for each other.

The community of Raymondale in Fairfax County is another desirable neighborhood that offers a selection of ramblers among some raised ramblers and split levels. This community of 144 homes wraps around Holmes Run Stream Valley Park. It is heavily wooded and appeals to nature lovers. Most of these homes are 900-1200 square feet and sit on quarter acre lots.

Another mentionable community that has an eclectic array of choices in styles of homes is Clarendon of Arlington County, Virgina. And among these many styles are some lovely ramblers or ranches. Clarendon is just across the Potomac River and can offer a favorable commute with access to the metro whilst living in a neighborly and attractive suburban area. Homes here date back to the 1920's on up to today.

So, although finding a one Story home in the D.C. are can be tricky, it's certainly not impossible and Djana can help you on your hunt for the perfect one today!
